Information on Indigenous Health

  • Indigenous life expectation is 17-years lower than other Australians1

  • Indigenous infant mortality is three times higher than other Australians1

  • Death rates for Indigenous Australians are twice as high across all age groups for all age groups1

The situation can be improved

  • The Australian government and Indigenous health leaders signed a Statement of Intent to work together to achieve equality in health status and life expectancy between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians by the year 2030 on March 20, 2008.2

  • There is increasing awareness that something needs to be done, particularly when the Australian situation is compared with other developed countries.3,4

  • You can help by telling everyone about this little windsurfing venture! Donations will also help!
