"... show us what shall happen... show the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them" (Isaiah 41:22).

History doesn't repeat itself - but it rhymes
- attributed to Mark Twain

The map, below, employes the above principle. Using Bible Prophecy and history ("the former things") the following is an argument for the future ("the latter end of them").

Height of European and Japanese Empires
in World War 3?

Bitmap Image

"... the king of the North will storm out ... with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood... He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall, but Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand... He will pitch his royal tents between the seas at the beautiful holy mountain..." (Daniel 11:40-41, 45).

The capital of the future European superpower will be Jerusalem. The "rhyme" for this is the "Kingdom of Jerusalem":

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Jerusalem

The "Tower of David" is Jerusalem's citadel. "The Crusaders built a large new citadel, surrounded by a moat, which also served as the seat of the Crusader King of Jerusalem" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_David).

While the Roman Emperor Hadrain and the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II are of particular interest on this point, this article focuses more on the rhymes of WW1 and WW2, the prelude to the former war provides the "former things" on this point:

"... Kaiser Wilhelm II ... took his white horse ... to the Holy Land [compare Revelation 6:2 with Daniel 11:40(b)-44]... [He] arrived there in [Jerusalem] in 1898 in a ceremonial entry of preposterous pomp, preceded by brass bands, white-liveried Uhlans, Arab cavalry and German sailors, and wearing on his head a helmet surmounted by a gigantic golden eagle... In Jerusalem ... the Augusta Victoria Hospital [was] originally built to commemorate the Kaiser's visit, but [it was] supposedly designed as the Government House of a German-conquered Palestine [compare Daniel 11:45]..." (Jan Morris, Farewell the Trumpets, pp.248-49, 177, 263).

One Future Spring Sunday Morning

Likely on one future Spring Sunday morning, after Passover/Easter, after the assassination of the European leader, Europe will attack America:

"On the eve of the attack, the officers of Pearl Harbor no doubt observed the sacred American Saturday-night ritual of getting stinking drunk, as did most of their men, and so when the first bombs fell, were incapable of manning their numerous planes and AA guns to defend themselves. Here the rule 'know your enemy' definitely helped the Japanese. If American forces, wherever stationed, are ever attacked again, the proper time will always be Sunday morning. National character changes very slowly" (Observation by fictitious WW2 German General Armin von Roon in Herman Wouk's novel "The Winds of War", p.721).

Before bringing together Bible Prophecy and History the following two sections provide a foretaste of what is going to happen to the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic peoples.

Hollywood as the Future

Click on picture from September 11, 2001, below, for a 'youtube' video of a trailer to the motion picture Red Dawn. Red Dawn is about a Soviet invason of America. Read/view the Soviets as Europeans for the future.

When America falls so will the 'Anglo' nations of Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, (South Africa is included in the 'Anglo' bloc).

History as the future

Click on the Australian propaganda poster from 1942, below, referring to the threat of Japanese invasion for a 'youtube' video on the attack of Pearl Harbour.

Note: "Japanese air raids on Darwin, Australia, on 19 February 1942 were the largest attacks mounted by a foreign power against Australia... This event is often called the "Pearl Harbor of Australia"... a greater number of bombs were dropped on Darwin than were used in the attack on Pearl Harbor" (Wikipedia, Bombing of Darwin (February 1942).

The former and latter things

"Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. "Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."
"As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
"Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many"" (Matthew 24:1-5).

To be continued. But an example:

Signal for WW1 and WW3

Former things: "The June 1914 assassination [of the Austrian Archduke Francis-Ferdinand] is one of the best-known examples in history of a particular event triggering a general crisis, and then a world war... There was indeed much truth in the old cliche that the archduke's death was merely the spark which lit the tinderbox" (Paul Kennedy, The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers, (London: Fontana Press, 1988), p.327).

Latter end: "One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?" The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation" (Revelation 13:3-7).

Jesus Christ, in the Olivet prophecy, said many false christs would appear; but there was one to appear who would be the representative of all the false Christs. Just as Christ was the representative of a line of prophets that God would send (Deut 18:15-19) so this European leader, referred to as the beast, is also known as the Antichrist:

In his epistle John refers to him as "the Antichrist" (1 John.2:18). The beast-person is "an opponent of Christ; that which sets itself in the place of Christ, which appears as Christ in opposition to Christ..." (E. W. Bullinger, A Critical Lexicon and Concordance to the English and Greek New Testament, page 56).

"And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and the deadly wound was healed" (Revelation 13:3a).

The expression "as if it had been mortally wounded" in Greek is hos esphagmenen. John employed it to describe the Lamb (Christ):

"...and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes..." (Revelation 5:6).

"In John's description of the beast, there are numerous parallels with Jesus that should alert the reader to the fact that John is seeking to establish...a theological characterization...: Both wielded swords; both had followers on whose foreheads were inscribed their names (13:16-14:1); both had horns (5:6; 13:1); both were slain, the same Greek word being used to describe their deaths (sphagizo, vv.3,8); both had arisen to new life and authority; and both were given (by different authorities) power over every nation, tribe, people, and tongue as well as over kings of the earth (1:5; 7:9; with 13:7; 17:12). The beast described here is the great theological counterpart to all that Christ represents..." (Alan F. Johnson, Revelation, Expositor's Bible Commentary, Volume 12, page 527).

The assasination and resurrection of the Antichrist will be the spark for WW3 with the invasion of the lands of the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic peoples. These events correspond to the first and second seals of Revelation (6:1-4).

WW3 will last "forty-two months" (Revelation 13:5). This compares with the 44 months from Pearl Harbour, December 7, 1941 to Victory in Japan Day, August 15, 1945.
