A Band For All Occasions
A Band For All Occasions was established in 1969 by Peter and Marie Rappolt after disbanding Peter's first band, the Echomen. The Echomen were recording and television artists in the 60's and they were one of the pioneers of "Surf" music in Australia, with a number of tunes on the Hit parade. Since 1969 Peter and Marie have been involved with providing entertainment in War Zones of Vietnam in 1969-1970 and through Asia for a number of years.Viva the duo and Viva the band were developed in 1996 to provide entertainment to audiences that preferred classic and popular music music from Europe as well as music from Brazil and Cuba. They also play the standard fare of jazz, latin, swing and salsa music.
Viva the duo (accordion, bass, guitar, flute) was developed as an alternative to classic string bands by developing a repertoire of purely Instrumental background music and a repertoire suitable for concerts and roving work. They also provide dance music with Swing and Latin tunes.
The duo is often called upon to provide aunthenticity to French themed functions.
Viva the band introduces vocals to the band with the addition of female and male vocalists. The band takes on a more percussive sound of Salsa and Spanish music. The vocalists add percussion, congas and extra guitar to the duo.
Extra musicians are added (up to 6 piece) for major events and music festivals
