Splinterscale

Wily fighters

A living quietly in large lakes of Gyi’spire the dominant species of the water are the Splinterscale.  On land they typically stand from 4 to 5 feet tall hunched over.  Their skin is a mix of blues and greens, with small cold eyes and jagged teeth.  Their feet and hands are webbed for swimming but they are powerful enough to run on land, and grip weapons.  Splinterscale will not come onto land without good reason.  Though they can breath the air, they do not enjoy the dry taste.  They abhor land creatures, and see them as dirty, sweaty beasts.  Creatures of the deep waters in Gyi’spire are large and aggressive, making the waters they live in a dangerous place to live.   So all Splinterscale grow knowing how to fight and flee.  They move fast on land, and are a blur in water.  Though they are small, they make up for this with cunning, and speed.
