DANCE AWAY THE NIGHT SOCIAL

Our 2002 Social was a special one for us as it was our first experiment featuring live music. We have become very keen on dancing to live music after visiting a number of country music festivals and listening to the wonderful talent Aussie country music artists have to offer.

We met David and Merelyn Carter a few years ago when they first entered the country music scene, and shortly after approached them to do a social with us. Since then they have won award after award and were an instant success with the line dancers.

The social sold out and we were packed in at the hall at Ringwood Secondary College. The evening featured over 60 dances, 25 of which were danced to the music of Carter & Carter. David & Merelyn didn’t know what to expect of the night as they had little prior experience with line dancing – despite having once come to our class with their two girls to learn a dance that had been choreographed to one of their songs. After the social, David was full of enthusiasm to make it an annual event!
