This section of the Creativity Web gives a brief history of the various views of the creative process, starting with the Ancient Greeks and moving on to the 19th Century Romantics, through to Wallis's model and the Osborne-Parnes CPS model (Creative Problem Solving). Other models have also been proposed.
Other frameworks have been set up for problem-solving and applying various tools such as James Higgin's model in his book 101 Creative Prolem Solving Techniques, and Edward de Bono's TO LO PO SO GO framework described in his book "Teach Yourself to Think". de Bono also has a framework known as the Six Thinking Hats.
