Notes from research by Newton Walkington
Born on the 20th July, 1867 probably at Melrose. Baptised on 6th February, 1868 at Holy Trinity Church, Melrose. Married Alfred Day Norman, farmer of Pekina, on 12th August, 1885, he being about 27 and she was only about 18. The wedding was held at the Walkington’s house. It has been said she had an unfortunate marriage. They had five children. Emily died on 8th August, 1948.
