The
Bulldogs beat the South Sydney Rabbitohs earlier
today 28-18, equalling the club record of nine
straight wins in a row and securing their position
at the top of the ladder for another round. Missing
five players to origin duty, the Bulldogs trailed
Souths early in the match 12-0. By half-time however,
the Bulldogs had managed to claw their way infront,
scoring 16 unanswered points to lead 16-12. The
start to the second half was much better than
the first with Matt Utai crossing over to score
after only a few minutes. The Rabbitohs hit back
soon after to take the scorline to 22-18, reducing
the margin to only four points. The Dogs managed
to hold out a sustained Rabbitohs attack late
in the match, to score a fifth try and secure
the match.
