At this time my transport was a push bike which I rode everywhere together with friends from my school days. So my mate Bert Lee & I thought we would ride from Sunshine to Bacchus Marsh & do some gold prospecting in the Lerderderg River. This was an old gold diggings. At this time some remains of the old miner’s huts were still visible along the river. There was also parts of the original water race which the miners had constructed, we found this to be very interesting. We did this over one long weekend holiday, of cause, not finding any gold. While we were returning home we stopped at Baccus Marsh for lunch. This was when I discovered Vintage Cars, see My Interest in Vintage Cars. |
