PARENT  INFORMATION


SHOES
Correct dance shoes must be worn at all times in class.
These are available from any dancewear shops - see Yellow Pages
.

3-4 year olds   pink ballet shoes with elastic across instep (no jiffies)
5-12 year olds   jazz shoes in either camel or black with flexi sole
13yrs+ hip hop   Bloch or Capezio hip hop dance shoes in black or jazz shoes
Tap classes   Camel strap and buckle shoes with low heel up to 12 years
Senior tap and teens -shoe with heel or lace up shoe in black.
Classical ballet   pink ballet shoes with elastic across instep
Contemporary    pink ballet shoes or bare feet
Performance classes    12 years and under will need camel flexi-sole jazz shoes.  All older groups to wear black Bloch's or Capezio hip hop shoes. A second pairof shoes may be necessary later in the year for all age groups but there is no need to purchase these yet.

*Please note that shoes may need to be colour changed to match costumes for the concert or performances.

DANCE WEAR
Available from Street Jam

3-4 years   Mauve ballet leotard, mauve ballet skirt or Street Jam 2 piece shorts and top.
5-10 years     Street Jam 2 piece shorts and top (preferred but not compulsory)
11yrs plus   Suitable dance wear - either bike shorts, leggings, track suit pants, cropped top, singlet etc. No jeans.
Classical ballet   5-7yrs - mauve ballet leotard & mauve skirt, pink ballet socks.Hair in a bun.
8yrs + - Black ballet leotard, pink ballet tights

HAIR
All long hair should be tied up for safety and ease of movement

SAFETY
Parents are asked to safely see their children to and from classes, Be aware of speeding cars in the laneway alongside the building.

PARKING
Please park within the boundaries of the Bundall Centre or at the rear of the building. Help us remain on good terms with our neighbours.
PICK UP
All students are to be picked up promptly after their class. No responsibility can be taken for children outside their normal class time.

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
All classes which fall on a public holiday during school terms will continue as normal. In particular, there are many Monday public holidays in the first part of the year. This will also includes pupil free days at school.

CONCERT
Street Jam holds a Concert at the Arts Centre early in November. All students are welcome to participate. Dates will be confirmed in the near future.

PARENT VIEWING
To help children with their focus and concentration in class, parent viewing is not encouraged. Parents are asked to keep noise to a minimum in the waiting room to give children the best chance to learn.

PHONE HOURS
Generally, the office will be manned during class hours or you may leave a message and one of our staff will get back to you. Students wishing to make phone calls will be charged 40 cents.
Reception will be manned up until the beginning of the last scheduled class for the day.

FEES
Accounts will be issued at the end of each term for the following term. All fees are payable in advance on or before the first lesson of each term. We accept cash, cheque, and credit cards. Payment can be made in person, by post or by phone. As some classes have a waiting list, prompt payment is required to keep a place in the class of your choice.

PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons can be booked with any of our teachers by prior arrangement. The lessons can be used for eisteddfod solo or duo preparation, audition technique or to catch up on missed classes. Payment at time of booking is $33 per half hour.
