Occupation: Bank Manager
Individual Note: Julian Addison, son of Henry Robert and his wife Grace (nee Barton), was born in Bruges, Belgium in 1839. Julian arrived in Australia in 1868 or earlier, probably to join his older half-brother Glentworth Addison, who lived in Armidale NSW between 1864 and 1868.
Julian joined the Bank of NSW at Armidale in December 1868, and in June 1869 he transferred to the Glen Innes Branch of the Bank. On 2 January 1872 he married Sarah Griffith in Glen Innes. Sarah had travelled from Somerset to stay with her cousin, the incumbent of the Glen Innes Church of England church, and his wife Isabella, and her cousin the Reverend James Hart Johnson performed the wedding ceremony. Julian and Sarah eventually had 4 children, 3 boys and a girl, and the only one of their children to raise a family was Barton Addison.
In September 1875 Julian was promoted to Manager at the Tenterfield branch of the Bank, and in January 1884 transferred to Taree branch. He retired from the Bank of NSW in July 1908 and went to live in Mosman in Sydney. He died on 6 July 1909 and was buried in Gore Hill cemetery, St Leonards.
