     Served in The Boer War: He went into the Bank of Australasia and after being in it for about 2 years, left it and went to the "Cape". He was in a large shipping firm for about 3 months, and then joined as a Volunteer. After serving about 7 months he got a trip to England, where he was for 3 months. There he joined the Yeomanry, an English regiment, and went back to "Natal". He was at the Relief of Mafeking.
Buried in Gore Hill cemetery, Sydney, in the same grave as his parents.
