Originally trained as an accountant, Boris undertook further studies in economics at the National University of Altiplano/Peru and obtained his Bachelors of Education (Honours) in secondary mathematics teaching from the Higher Pedagogical Institute of Peru. He earned his Masters of Education from Edith Cowan University (Perth) and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Sydney in the area of curriculum development, following advanced research studies at the University of New England. Boris has also completed postgraduate studies at the University of Melbourne in the area of information and communication technologies.
Teaching: For over twenty years Boris has taught mathematics education and e-learning units in various educational settings. These include the universities of Technology Sydney, University of Western Sydney, and Newcastle, the Chifley College (NSW), Cumberland High School, the former NSW Aboriginal Education Unit, San Carlos College (Peru), the School of the Nations (Macau/China) teaching the UK curriculum and at the NSW Centre for Learning Innovation as a senior learning design officer. He is currently implementing a comprehensive eLearning program across the Faculty of Dentistry of Sydney University.
Research and Publications: Boris' record of publications includes mathematics and e-learning issues in professional journals in USA, United Kingdom, Australia, Latin America, Turkey, and Southeast Asia. His recent book Classroom Management in Action is now available through Dominie Publications. Boris' research interests include curriculum development and implementation in mathematics education, instructional design, and online education and training. He also serves on the editorial board of Reflections, the professional journal of the Mathematical Association of New South Wales. His consultancy work includes the South Pacific, Latin America and India in the fields of teacher training and numeracy education..
Awards: Boris is a recipient of the Minister's Excellence in the Integration of Information and Communication Technologies Award 2005. He was also selected to participate in the 2005 Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) Mentorship – DET ICT Teachers Awards Program. A recipient of the 1997 Commonwealth Postgraduate Research Award to undertake doctoral studies.
